Took me an hour 6 minutes to get to Bien Hoa. Then it is about 15 minutes from the heart of town. It is not a top site for tourists passing through, but it fits well for people spending a month or more in HCM and wanting to get out into nature. There is a little too much plastic there but it is not difficult to get away from it and obtain the feeling of you can only get from water, fresh air and good walking. It took me three hours to walk around the lake, stopping for water and lots of pictures. Costs 100,000 to go in. For those with families it has lots to do for younger kids. For me it was refreshing to get away from the bikes and cement in HCM. There are paddle boats and row boats for rent to go around the lake and you are also able to stop at some of the "islands" in the lake. The grounds are well maintained, lots of gardens with a variety of flowers, and a small pond filled with starving koi. I think koi are always starving. This is a great place for a picnic, or lunch at the restaurant. Also, nearby I noticed a place they play paintball.
